Where Flow States Lead to Deep Listening

Hello beautiful soul —

After spending time in a soulful gathering on the theme of dreams yesterday, my heart has been stirred. Listening to my friend, Sophie, share about living life through the lens of “dreamer,” I couldn’t help but consider how similar this is to living life through the lens of “creator.” For me, this sizzled an awareness of how closely the creative state and the dream state are related.

Whether we are in a creative OR dream state, we naturally enter into FLOW where time stretches or shortens, where the present is heightened and our senses are activated. We become attune to what is stirring within and open to a deep state of listening. In my experience, this listening is where a kernel of truth, a holy spark, a wisdom whisper resides. The more I enter into the flow, the more I strenghten my ability to hear.

One of our discussion points yesterday was how many of us are quick to speak aloud, “I’m not creative. I don’t dream.” These statements hold us back from the possibility that we can engage with life as a creator, as a dreamer at any moment. Being a creator doesn’t mean you need to be a perfectly poised artist. Being a dreamer doesn’t mean you have to remember your nightly dreams every morning.

To create, to dream with holy intention is to experience life as a sacred prayer. It’s a choice to pay attention to the small details, the energy that exists within and around us. Invisibilities become just as real as tangibles. Trees become our dear friends. Synchronicities make their way to our open arms. As the world rages of war, we, as creative dreamers know the truth: LOVE IS ALIVE!
